There's nothing better than drinking a local microbrew in a mountain town pub (except perhaps, drinking one on top of a mountain after a good hike).
Jack of the Wood is a great little pub in downtown Asheville with a small but good beer selection, including many of their own handcrafted
Green Man Ales. They also have good live music ranging from folk to celtic to bluegrass. My wife and I actually designed our wedding rings while sitting in this pub.

The pub has outdoor seating on the front sidewalk which allowed us to capture this shot of a car that represents the culture of Asheville better than just about anything else. (Click on image to see larger view.)
